  • What is NOAC?

NOAC is a chance for Arrowmen from across the country to join together
and celebrate being part our brotherhood of cheerful service.
Specifically it is the the National Order of the Arrow Conference.

What wil you do at NOAC?

NOAC has a lot to offer. Training, games, shows, patch trading, etc. (see below)

    Who can (should) attend?

You have to be an OA member and approved by our Lodge Chief/Adviser to attend.
New members are encouraged to attend to learn more about our Brotherhood and have some fun.
    More seasoned Arrowmen are invited
to help remind them why this is the greatest organization in Scouting and have some fun.

    Where is NOAC?

It is being held on the campus of Michigan State University in East Lansing.
We will be staying in the dorms at the university.
All of our meals will be provided for us.

    How will we get there?

Lakota plans on renting a Motor Coach
and this transportation will be included in our fee.

What sort of activities will be available?

    1. A key element of NOAC is training. Some of the best instructors from across the country
will provide great instruction on a wide range of topics. (See below).
    2. Another aspect of NOAC will be great shows.
There will be several shows in the evenings that we will attend as a Lodge.
Shows will include comedy, Indian dancing, award presentations and more.
    3. NOAC is full of games. There will be games for individuals and groups.
Expect inter-region dodge ball (appropriately renamed Lodge Ball!),
soccer, ultimate Frisbee, volleyball, 5K run, relays, etc.
    4. Of course there will be patch trading! Our Lodge is in the process of designing a patch that will make trading easy and fun.
    5. Founder's Day (see below)
    6. The OA Museum will provide some historical perspective for our event.

What is Founder's Day all about?

Founder's day celebrates the great leaders in the OA. The celebration includes a parade, a Grand Hodag and plenty of games.

What sort of classes will be available?

We don't have the official list yet but from the 2009 NOAC here are some of the highlights:

  • Will there be a chance for service during NOAC?

transportation, meals, lodging and our Lodge patch for the event.
Additional expenses may include trader patches, snacks, souvenirs (there will be a trading post full of cool stuff to buy!), etc.

Where do I go to get more answers?

    • Nick G. is our contingent leader.
    • National has a website: http://event.oa-bsa.org/events/n2012/
    • Ask someone who attended the last NOAC in 2009!
