December 2007 Edition
Saturday December 06, 2008 2:49 pm
Brothers,
Let me be the first to comment on what a spectacular year we have had. We as a lodge have accomplished so many positive things.
Our two Lodge Leadership Development courses have been through the roof with outstanding attendance and phenomenal training and it is looking like our next one in February will be even better. Many large projects were completed at the three fellowships this year with a total of 27,000 man-hours, proving that Lakota Lodge still has a lasting impact on our council camps. Another big item to point out is that three members of our lodge attended OA High Adventure this summer and ten also attended the National Conservation and Leadership Summit. There are so many more great things that happened as well and I would just like to thank all those who have made an impact on our lodge. Without the hard work and dedication you put into our order, Lakota would definitely not be what it is today.
I certainly am looking forward to this next year. With a new Lakota Lodge strategic plan going into effect, ArrowCorps5 coming up in the summer of 2008, and another year of service, I know our lodge can take the next step. That next step is a difficult item to describe in words and cannot just be known by reading about it. It is something that you must experience and that means being an active honored brother.
I encourage you to attend your chapter’s meetings if you already do not. That is the first step of knowing what we as a lodge do and also how the OA can be a big part of your scouting experience. The LLD on February 3rd will be another way to get started in the OA. If you have not used our lodge’s website yet, check it out—www.lakotalodge.org. This is a great way to get information on lodge business. Our webmasters work hard to keep it up and it is a wonderful tool. As I mentioned earlier, I am looking forward to 2008. Remember, in order to maintain a strong organization in the later years, it is important to plant the seeds of leadership. I hope that in this next year I will meet more arrowmen who will eventually lead this lodge.
Wishing you enough,
Richie Ferolo
