Come to February 16th LLD!

The LLD is beginning at 1 PM on Saturday February 16th and is ending at 11am on Sunday. Make sure to save the date. Want to learn what an LLD is or find more info out about this specific event, or download the sign-up/information flyer, click here (pdf) (updated 1/17/08).

We will also be having our February Operations Meeting at the February 16th Lodge Leadershop Development seminar. We encourage all lodge members to come to the LLD and participate in the Operations Meeting.

Operations Meeting (Feb. 6) Date Changed!

The operations meeting planned for February 6 has been moved to the February Lodge Leadership Development (LLD) Meeting on February 16. The meeting time/date has been moved due to weather conditions.

Lodge Calendar

The lodge calendar has been updated with all of Section C-3B Event Dates! Also all of the NLS (National Leadership Seminar) and NLAT (National Lodge Advisor Training) dates for 2008 have been also added.

If any Chapters have dates that need to get added to the calendar, please let the Webteam know.

Winter Banquet News Bytes

At the Lakota Lodge Winter Banquet a variety of awards were given and many brothers were recognized for their participation in the Order of the Arrow. We would like to congradulate our three founders award recipients: Patrick Hogan, Don Hough and Jay R. Haack.

Section C-3B Event Registration System

The Section C-3B event registration system has been launched. We strongly encourage that you sign up for the registration system. More information and the registration form can be found here.

Founders Award Recipients

At Lakota Lodge's Winter Banquet, three recipients of the Founders Award were awarded. We would like to congradulate the recipients Patrick Hogan, Don Hough, and Jay R. Haack for their outstanding service and devotion to the Order of the Arrow and Lakota Lodge. There is more to come about the Winter Banquet.

We would like to thank Scott P. and Don Hough for serving as our Section C-3B Chief and Central Region Chief during the year of 2007 (Scott's term ended during the Section Conclave earlier this year and Don's term is ending on December 31). Jobs well done!

We would also like to congratulate Richie F., our lodge chief, for being voted as our new Section C-3B secretary!

Website Updates

We have recently installed an online mailing list system. We encourage all lodge members to sign up for the lodge mailing list and their chapters mailing list. Emails will be sent out periodically about events and other lodge occurances. If you are interested, please sign up here or go to the mailing list from the link on menu under interaction.

The calendar has been recently updated with lodge events up to May of 2008. The calendar is a great resource for all lodge members to view regularly to keep up with lodge events.

Chapter Websites are now up to date with information about each chapter and their monthly chapter meetings. You can visit the chapter websites from the top menu.

Help Paint the Council Service Center!

Mr. Haack is organizing an exterior painting of the Council Service Center and needs whoever can help to come! This will take place this Saturday, November 10th at 9am. Please email Mr. Haack from the Contact Us page to find out more information!

Brotherhood Conversion!

Come out for the Last Chance to earn your Brotherhood Honor. (Flyer)

Our second annual Brotherhood Conversion at the Methodist Camp will be held on Sunday October 28th starting at Noon.  Fellowship, Friendship and Cheerful Service are once again the watch words for this event.
 
Check in begins at Noon with an ending time of approximately 7 to 8 PM (that ending time may change).  Any current Ordeal member who has completed their Ordeal in 2006 or earlier may go through their Brotherhood conversion at this event.  Those attending should bring work gloves, their sash, work clothes and their Scout shirt (for evening ceremonies).

Section C-3B Conclave 2007

Conclave 2007The Ultimate Section C-3B Conclave will be held at at Rainbow Council Scout Reservation in Morris, IL, occuring Septemember 21-23. To find out what conclave is all about, please visit sectionc3b.org. Conclave is meant for younger OA members to train them how to run the lodge in the near future. Please sign up using this form (pdf). You may electronically fill out the form on the adobe reader and print it. Conclave will be a blast this year! Don't miss it!

Spring Fellowship was a Great Success!

The Annual Spring Fellowship held at Camp Napowan in May was one of the most productive in the history of the Council. Nearly 400 Scouts and volunteers gathered to help repair the camp from the damages of the winter and to ready the camp for the start of summer camp. (read more...)
